Eagles shot down by Chiefs
Posted by: bengalsfan74 on 2009-10-05

The Eagles were arrowed cleanly by the Chiefs this week in a 28-17 slaughter.

QB Donovan McNabb was benched early in the 3rd quarter after he failed yet again to complete a pass. Backup Michael Vick was easily outmatched as he was forced to make quick reads that confused him.

The Eagles defense was the lone bright spot, grabbing three interceptions, yet the Eagles could not capitalize on the turnovers. The Eagles were also able to stop RB Larry Johnson, holding him to only 53 yards for the game. Two long touchdowns proved to be the keys to the Chief's win today.

"We were outmatched. We tried a new playbook this week, and we obviously weren't ready for it. Play like this won't stand around here."

LeSean McCoy was brought into the game in the 2nd half to help a struggling Westbrook. He was only able to average 2.5 yards per carry, getting only 35 yds on 11 touches. He did however score a badly needed touchdown in the 2nd half.

Rumors are abounding that RB Brian Westbrook is being shopped for a young up and coming quarterback. Only time will tell if this is true or not.
